Description

This contract is for the provision of a digital platform enabling Gippsland Water’s digital metering trial. The successful contractor will work closely with our meter supplier and installer to ensure the smooth execution of the trial. The trial will be completed on one of Gippsland Water’s small regional systems, replacing the existing mechanical meter fleet with digital meters including units with pressure and vibration sensors. The proposed project timeline will see a small number of meters installed late in the third quarter of 2025 to prove meter communication to the platform and ensure the necessary dashboards and analytics are prepared for the formal trial Go-Live. The expected Go-Live will be in the fourth quarter of 2025 with the remainder of the meters in the system replaced with the meters including vibration sensors. The trial will then be live for 8 months with an anticipated completion in the middle of 2026. The focus of this trial is to collect and analyse data from the digital meters to reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and customer side leaks. The digital metering trial will not have any impact on Gippsland Water’s current customer billing processes and there will not be provision for a customer facing app. Associated with Tender Software Platform for Digital Metering trial (GWS521)
